.:: Can I write to England Queen? ::.

by windchimes @ Tuesday, Jul. 08, 2008 - 10:32:42 am

Good Morning!! I finily finished one of the translations! uffff... My biggest fault is to do two things at the same time. I'm always doing it. peter-pan-craig-hamiltonWell, I'm translating about stars and I wish I couldn't finish it like Penelope's endless tapestry. I'm not beautiful like her, but I'm really slow in finishing it because I love this book so much. Am I selfish? I think so. I must work on it.

I also saw Thomas Kinkade paintings. They are amazing. Meanwhile I'm knitting a swetter to my dog because she is so cold. I will show you it when I have finished!

Have a beautiful week!

by windchimes @ Saturday, Jun. 14, 2008 - 09:46:58 am

Good Morning Bloggies!

I love the frog tale because there is a big power in words. Encouraging words can lift someone up and help him or her make it through the day. Negative words can destruct someone causing deep wounds in soul. So, this story is so beautiful and I would like to share with you.

Have a beautiful weekend and Be Deaf!

TWO FROGS CLIMBING A TOWER

Dançando

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a climbing competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants. The race began. No one in the crowd really believed the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. Heard throughout the race were statements such as, “Oh, way too difficult,” “They will never make it to the top,” “Not a chance they will succeed,” and “The tower is too high.”

CanCan

The tiny frogs began collapsing, one by one—except for those who, in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to yell, “It is too difficult! No one will make it!” More tiny frogs got tired and gave up. But ONE continued to climb higher and higher. This one refused to give up!

Sax

At the end of the race, all had given up climbing the tower except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top! All of the other tiny frogs wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it. They asked him how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal.

Pescando
It turned out that the winning frog was DEAF!!!!

by windchimes @ Tuesday, Jun. 03, 2008 - 09:38:37 am

Good Morning! The day is sunny, but cold  here in Santos! I was watching TV last Sunday when I saw this wonderful city in the state of Minas Gerais. Monte Verde, Mount Green, was founded by a Lithuanian  man called Werner Grinberg. Grin means green and berg means mount. There are mountains, animals such hummingbirds, herons, martins, hawks, sabiá, tico-tico, etc. There are rapids and lakes there. The place is really beautiful and peacefully. Mr. Grinberg loved the place because it looked like his own country.

Have a beautiful Tue!

Finally I could post here. I miss you all very much. I couldn't wait to be here. We are in fall in Brazil. The leaves have changed their colors, the temperature has dropped, the wind is blowing faster. My students are cold and I enjoy so much teaching them. I'm translating too. I've learnt so much with this work. I was translating two work at the same time, which I will not repeat again. It drove me crazy. Besides translating about Marine Biology, I was translating "The Ugly Duckling" by Hans C. Andersen. My favorite book of his is The Emperor New Suit and The Nightingale. If you want to tell a tale to a kid, you can search at http://hca.gilead.org.il/
I love the birds flighting freely, not in cages. They bring us happiness and lessons of  life. My daughter watched The Nightingale for the first time as the emperor. The nightingale is Rouxinol in Portuguese.
 http://br.geocities.com/acalanto_home_page/a_lenda_do_rouxinol.htm
I also love the nightingale and the skylark by Shakespeare.

It is raining because it is April showers. But The sun come out tomorrow!

Good Morning!  Much work here, thanks God! Mental work I mean! But I love it!
It has been pouring rain in Santos for days in a row. Some streets are flood.
I took a picture of the sling I sew to my dog because she took the snitches of her microsurgery off four times.
I got a beautiful e-mail from a Russian friend with a song that I love so much that I want to share with you. Well, I said to her I tried to look for other songs, but the site is in Russian and Russian is Greek for me (This is Greek for me is a Brazilian saying when we don't understand something).

You can see it at:

So, wish you all a beautiful Friday! Okay, the sun come out today. The song was the sun come out tomorrow, but it is so in a hurry! Beautiful day after cloudy, rainy days.

by windchimes @ Friday, Apr. 04, 2008 - 11:09:08 am

Hi Everybody! How have you been doing? Here it has been raining dogs and cats. Yesterday the streets were flood, which is a disaster. In São Paulo it is worse. I had a tooth pulled last Wednesday. My dog had a wart removed last Saturday. I went to the vet almost everyday because she took off the snitches. I made myself  a sling to wear on her arm in order to not lick the wound. Meanwhile I'm translating [...] looking for ghost shrimps, callinassa, and so on.

I would like to know if the image here it is okay. I tried to fix it. I often don't know how to do so.

This movie of Stan and Oli reminds me about my toothache.

Have a beautiful weekend. I will try to catch up on the comments. Sorry for being late.

Good Saturday Morning! Sorry for being late, but I'm very busy translating. All I see is seagrass, Callichirus, burroewer organisms, etc... hee hee
Well, the sea is my passion, so, another dream that has come true. Above  is my dog  with a special antenna that I got at my nephew's wedding. She is very cute! Well, there is so much to do! There are missing almost 25 pages. There is no deadline, but I want to finish it to get to normal life. I also have been teaching. Both teaching and translating are fascinating. We had a great time on Easter! I also watched good movies that I have never seen before such as Notting Hill and yesterday night I watched "The Nutty Professor".  I love Jerry Lewis very much. I'm a big fan of his. I love comedies! I love "Boing Boing" pretty much and the one he worked in a girl's boarding school. I guess the name is "The Ladies Man". I also love Debbie Reynolds (tammy, and so on) very much. I used to watch them when I was a child. I used to wathc black/white non talk films. I love black and white movies yet. David Niven is great!  I love all his movies and one of my favorites is "Bedtime Story from 1963"  I also think "The Pink Panther" is very funny. I also love Lucy Ball, Daniel Boone, [...] . I think it is an endless list. They made part of my childhood.

I think the pictures below are very beautiful! The first one is very funny and cute! The other ones are amazing and I would like to share with you!
Wish you all a beautiful weekend!

CLOSE BY ME
By Sandra Tiriba

I have been looking for you so long …
to talk about everything just for fun,
to answer my questions when I am lost,
to wipe my tears when I’m sad,
and
to laugh with me when I’m happy.

We would understand each other
Just at a glance, a thought, or a smile,
It takes too long to find a true friendship,
As though you were in a garden waiting for
A flower from a seed you have just planted!

Sometimes I hurt you on foolish things
And afterwards I ask you to forget them!
I’ve been looking for a friend
To clear my mind when I’m blind
To tell me the truth no one has the courage to say to me

But I’ve been so occupied looking for a friend
That I haven’t realized one was by my side
Trying to make me smile and
Listening to my deepest secrets…
Sorry my friend if once more I hurt you!

Let us talk about it, please!

BEAR RESCUE AT DONNER SUMMIT BRIDGE

Hi everybody! I'm so happy to post, after deleting many pictures! This story is worth reading. This bridge is on the Old Donner Pass Highway in California. It has a spectacular view of Donner Pass on Route 80.

***
This bear is different from others. Instead of taking pic-a-nic baskets like his cousin Yogi Bear,  he prefers watching the landscape, seeing the flowers, etc. According to the Tahoe Daily Tribune ,
the 250-pound bear climbed over the bridge in order to avoid the cars. Then, he got stuck and decided to take a boo nap! Good decision! He hung overnight until being rescued around noon Sunday.

The lesson to this story you know, this old bear made a wrong move and found he was hanging by his nails. Somehow he was able to pull himself up onto the ledge where he saw he was in a very bad and impossible situation. What did he do? Yep, he took a nap and sure enough the situation took care of itself while he was asleep. So, he is smarter than the average bears!! The moral is that when confronted with a bad situation, sometimes the best solution is to take a nap. That was I did yesterday and woke up better today to accept the fact that I had to delete some pictures!

Have a beautiful Wednesday to you all! You are very nice and friendly with me! That is worth to keep on here!

Hello everybody! I'm late because I caught a cold, had a terrible fever due to some chilly wind I caught in São Paulo. I'm very sensitive! We had the graduation ceremony of my older daughter, which was very wonderful. I will post some pictures soon. My husband vacation will start next Monday. I cannot wait for it because we are going to walk on the beach every morning. I do love the sea! I collect shells, but only the empty ones. One day I took a shell and when I was on the sidewalk I looked at it and saw black paws from inside. There was a dweeler inside, so I took him to the sea again.
Hope your weekend to be beautiful!
